Our current work

Characteristics of our work
All our work meets the general Nuffield criteria for the projects supported by the Nuffield Foundation. We aim to be innovative but also to be very practical: all we do should in some way influence practice or policy in the short to medium term.

Our approach
We work closely with teachers, teacher trainers and educational researchers to make sure that our work is generalisable, and we take care to monitor and evaluate our work to assess the extent to which we succeed in achieving our aims.

Areas of interest
As agreed with Nuffield Trustees, our main areas of interest now are Science, Mathematics, Design & Technology and Citizenship, but our work is not confined to these areas. Within each area we keep in touch with a wide range of people, institutions and projects, being always on the look-out for promising new ideas for fresh developments.

Four broad stands of activity
The work of the Nuffield Curriculum Centre falls under four broad headings:

  • curriculum development
  • dissemination, support and aftercare
  • project management and consultancy
  • stimulating curriculum innovation.

For a full list of projects and for more information about our current work see this Nuffield Curriculum Centre website's home page.
