The Noorderlicht
The Noorderlicht

The 100-year old Dutch schooner, The Noorderlicht, used by Cape Farewell for their expeditions.

To find out more about Cape Farewell, see the Cape Farewell website.

Cape Farewell

The Cape Farewell expeditions are voyages of discovery in a sailing schooner to Svalbard in the Norwegian Arctic - a ship full of scientists, artists and teachers exploring the effects of global warming on the Arctic environment.

Life in the Water
Developed with the Nuffield Curriculum Centre, Life in the Water was produced by Cape Farewell for the 2006 GCSE specifications. With a little adaptation, it is suitable for all secondary year groups 11-18.

How Science Works
With the help of videos and a range of activities, students can look at how scientists actually work - collecting, analysing and interpreting data to answer the big questions that really matter.
