The London Challenge have launched a new website called London Science Teaching. The website has been created by London science teachers and technicians and its aim is to make it easy for teachers and technicians in London to share and celebrate good ideas.

Teachers are invited to contribute to the site and on it they can find out what works well in London secondary schools and colleges.

London Challenge's goal is to raise standards in London secondary schools. It also aims to give the city's young people better opportunities and to make it a world class leader in education.

The Challenge is a five-year partnership between Government, schools and London boroughs. It offers:

  • London-wide resources for all schools;
  • Individual bespoke support for around 70 of the city's most disadvantaged schools;
  • Intensive work with five key boroughs (Hackney, Islington, Haringey, Southwark and Lambeth).

The Challenge focuses on teachers, students, school leaders, buildings and the environment.
