Arts minister Estelle Morris launches web design challenge for schools

Arts minister Estelle Morris announces a new national competition for key stage 3 students to use their computer and design skills through exploring issues of citizenship.  'Web Design Challenge' has been designed for 11 - 14 year olds and all schools in England are invited to take part. 

The website of the overall winner will be launched in summer 2005.  The competition will take place in two phases – firstly students will design web pages based on issues such as the environment, criminal justice and religion.

In the second phase entrants will be asked to design a new website under
the title 'Being Heard'.
