The Noorderlicht
The 100-year old Dutch schooner, The Noorderlicht, that Cape Farewell use for their expeditions.
To find out more about Cape Farewell, see their website.
The Cape Farewell expedition is a voyage of discovery in a sailing schooner to Svalbard in the Norwegian Artic - a ship full of scientists, artists and teachers exploring the effects of global warming on the Artic environment.
Life in the Water
Developed with the Nuffield Curriculum Centre, Life in the Water has been produced by Cape Farewell for the new GCSE specifications. With a little adaptation, it is suitable for all secondary year groups 11-18. All the resources are available free from the Education section of the Cape Farewell website.
With the help of videos and a range of activities, students can look at how scientists actually work - collecting, analysing and interpreting data to answer the big questions that really matter.
