Update

Citizenship co-ordinators' shelves are full of resources from a wide range of organisations, so we have decided not to add any more. Instead the plan is to help teachers to develop strategies that are appropriate for the subject. This will help people to use that wealth of resources more effectively.

We are looking at ways in which reflective teaching leads to reflective learning - which is at the heart of Citizenship. If you have examples of students discussing, debating, working in groups, investigating - or any other activities that encourage participation and an appreciation of perspectives - please get in touch.

As Citizenship is being fitted into the curriculum in a variety of ways, we are looking for strategies drawn from schools where the subject:

  • is integrated into curriculum subjects;
  • is taught discreetly;
  • is the topic of 'off timetable' days.

Are there any other strategies being used?
