Nuffield Council on Bioethics

The Nuffield Council on Bioethics has developed a set of teaching resources based on its report 'The Forensic use of Bioinformation: ethical issues'.

There are three activities to teach students to think about how bioinformation - fingerprints and DNA profiles - are used to investigate crime and the ethical issues that arise from the storage of bioinformation on national databases.

The activities have been developed for Key Stage 4 and above. Curriculum links, lesson plans, teaching notes, activity sheets and background information are provided for each activity.

Visit the Council's website to download the complete forensic use of bioinformation resource as well as the separate activity sheets.

This resource includes illustrated activity sheets to print out. If you require editable versions of the materials please use the 'activity sheets only' links on the right hand side.
