Salary range: £45k - £50k
The Nuffield Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic and creative mathematics educator. The successful candidate will be the lead on mathematics curriculum development from within the Curriculum Programme and will contribute to the Foundation’s wider work in the field of mathematics.
Current and planned activity includes the revision and updating of mathematics problems formerly known as GAIM (graded assessment in mathematics), and development of support for ‘Use of Mathematics’ at post-16. Part of the role will be to provide mathematics input for Nuffield STEM and science projects, joining the team of curriculum developers at Nuffield. The Foundation is also funding a variety of research and other projects to which the post holder will contribute.
Understanding of the current policy and curriculum landscape are desirable, along with experience of writing curriculum materials. Experience of teacher professional development will be useful.
This London-based, full-time post is from April 2010, or before if possible. The appointment will be for two years initially, with the possibility of extension after this period. Applications will also be considered from candidates wishing to work part time.
Standard office hours are Monday – Friday, 9.30am – 5.30pm although there is some scope for flexibility in working hours.
