Nuffield Curriculum Centre

Here are some of a large group of puppets at the ASE annual conference in Birmingham, January 2007. Stuart Naylor, Jane Maloney and others from the Puppets project showed how puppets can help teachers to transform children's experience of science. Find out more PUPPETS project.
Presentations and information at the conference in which teachers and others (but probably not puppets) were interested include:
• The Nuffield Lecture: 'Mission possible: tackling cancer in 2007' by Fran Balkwill. See also the new Centre of the Cell
• Practical Chemistry: launch of new website for all teachers of chemistry and technicians
• Nuffield Science Bursaries: increasing the number of post-16 bursaries available
• Urban Spaces: advice taking primary school pupils out into their local area
We are grateful to Peter Ellse of TTS for taking this puppets photograph.
