BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Nuffield Foundation Education Fellows
Education Fellows are practitioners who work within the Nuffield Foundation’s mathematics or science education projects. Fellows are seconded or otherwise employed for a specific period to work in research or curriculum development, depending on their particular area of interest. Potentially, a fellowship will be the start of a longer term relationship with Nuffield.
Fellowships aim to be mutually beneficial, bringing new ideas and expertise into the Foundation, while providing opportunities for professional development in the context of Nuffield’s wide ranging projects.
Role of a Nuffield Education Fellow
Education Fellows contribute directly to our projects under the guidance of Nuffield project heads. Nuffield support Education Fellows to develop their expertise, for example through a close association with our projects, curriculum developers working in the Nuffield Foundation Curriculum Programme, and people working in policy and research. We provide mentoring, and opportunities to make contacts in the relevant areas of work.
Fellows are also encouraged to bring their own ideas and skills from recent relevant practice to Nuffield projects.
